Trophy ... families?

Today I learned that the population of Houston, Texas is quite diverse, and quite well off. I visited its biggest mall with my sister today (called "the Galleria"), and it had all of your normal mall-type stores, PLUS almost every ridiculously overpriced designer-type stores that I know of (e.g., Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, Jimmy Choo, Neiman-Marcus, Saks Fifth ... the list goes on). It also had an ice-skating rink. We also saw at least five girls celebrating their quinceaneras, wandering around the mall wearing huge puffy dresses (puffier than the puffiest dress you might have seen at prom) and followed by entourages. For me, the whole experience was a lot extravagant and at least a little strange.
