Today I learned that stubbing your toe on an uneven sidewalk while wearing flip-flops can be quite disgusting.
While I was walking to my new house from J.S.'s place (I planned to drive, but my car was blocked in), I did just that (stubbed my toe), and it started bleeding. I was lfess than 2 blocks from my new house, so I figured I'd be fine and continued walking, but increased my pace a bit. About halfway there, I saw that a nice amount of blood had dripped all over my toe and continued to drip (eventually onto my flip-flop) until I got to my house and had a chance to wash/bandage it. A.J. is a witness of this. Now, as I'm replacing the bandage, it looks pretty gross ... I don't think anyone would want to be a witness.
Moral of this story: pay attention to where/how you're stepping when you wear flip-flops.
