Today I learned that the super absorbent in most diapers and many maxi pads is actually a super absorbent polymer made from polyacrylic acid and is found in a gritty pellet form until it gets wet and turns into a gel.
Of note: I got assigned the "Maxi Pad" project for the Target brand product assurance so you all can have a good laugh and appreciate the many more insights I might get as I work on this over the next week or so.
