Reviving Cell Phones

Today I learned that a soaked cell phone can be dried out by dunking the cell phone in isopropyl alcohol and then leaving in dry rice over night... and then it will work!

    I knew about the rice thing, but not about rubbing alcohol ... it definitely makes sense, though.

    What was the context of this discovery?

    My brother knew the tricks and used them on my phone that got soaked and died in the rain.
